Google Drive: Presentation

Similar to Microsoft Powerpoint, but with fewer frills. Most people prefer to collaborate here, but then have one person import the presentation to PowerPoint and do the final cleanup and preparation there.

Importing from PowerPoint

If you like the more extensize customization capabilities of PowerPoint, but also need to collaborate or otherwise share your presentation online, consider creating your presentation in PowerPoint and importing your slides into Google Presentations.

Simply go the the "Insert" tab in your Google Presentation and select the "Import Slides..." option.

Creating Slide Shows

You can make your own slide shows in Presentation. Here is a sample:

You can add slides, animation, edits, insert video from YouTube, and even time your presentations.

Extra features include multiple people editing, sharing your presentation with others, and presenting with your notes.

To present with your notes, you can open up the presentation on one computer with a projector and another opened on a laptop using the following link:

Choose Present From Speaker Notes and your presentation should bring up a new screen:

You can increase the size of the Speaker Notes screen by holding down the Ctrl key on your laptop while hitting the + key. If this makes the Speaker Notes too large they can be size with the _ or + in the upper right (orange arrow). Check your timing to keep within the guidelines for your presentation! Now you can use your notes from a laptop while your audience only sees your finished presentation from the computer connected to the projector.
