Write a thesis statement, summarizing your paper or presentation in one sentence. Your thesis statement should include your main points. Your thesis statement should also state whether you agree or disagree with the issue. Here are some example thesis statements:
"To prevent being harmed by fake news, check sites for accuracy, balance and credibility."
"Partisanship has increased due to social media, disconnection of younger generations, and marketing."
"It is important to communicate with humility, passion, and confidence."
For each section of your outline, write a topic sentence and a concluding sentence which states your point concisely.
Between your topic and concluding sentences, put facts, data, quotations from your sources, and examples. Explain how they are connected to your point.
Put all your writing together in order.
Create an opening paragraph with your thesis statement and some startling fact or interesting story to catch the reader's interest.
Summarize your paper/presentation with a concluding paragraph and perhaps a "call to action", telling readers what they should do as a result of your presentation.
